Free from essential oils, packed with the nourishing goodness of vitamin A, antioxidants and healthy fatty acids, this bar is just the ticket! When you need a soap that's gentle for your face, mild enough for infants (not tear-free, so be mindful with the eyes, though), great for eczema or anyone with delicate or aged skin, try Sensitive and you will not be disappointed.

Handmade simply from one third cocoa butter and a third each of coconut and olive oil.

Each bar is free from plastics, palm oil, SLS and parabens, weighs about 95 grams and is alkaline with a value of pH8-9.

Chickweed

A plant that is a European native growing in the colder seasons, chickweed has been a staple in folk medicine for centuries. This natural anti-inflammatory can be used directly to injuries as a poultice, crushing the fresh leaves and applying to wounds to speed up healing. It has a similar effect by using infusions of this herb and massaging it into inflamed, itchy or damaged skin. Few side effects are recorded but this potent plant is best to avoid when you are pregnant.

Comfrey

This is a plant that many people have heard of, perhaps by its traditional name 'knitbone', and has a reputation for needing caution. It is not a plant that should be used internally, however, the safety and usefulness of chickweed holds well when used topically. There is evidence to suggest it relieves pain, and it can be used on closed wounds to speed up healing. Some research suggests it's an aide for treating osteoarthritis, injuries such as ankle sprain and even lower or upper back pain. This is a potent plant and is best to avoid when pregnant.

Peppermint

It's also great for skincare, as it has antiseptic and antipruritic qualities (or, in plain English: treating itchiness) that could help with calming infected or itchy skin. Especially the cooling sensation will help stop the urge to scratch, thereby promoting the healing process.

Shea

Our unrefined shea butter is one of our favourite ingredients. It doesn't clog pores and is suitable for nearly any skin type. It's a brilliant moisturiser, replenishing the lipids in your skin and restoring your skin barrier. It absorbs fast and keeps your skin well hydrated. It helps to boost collagen, promote regeneration of the cells, and its anti-inflammatory properties can help with conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Although it's a tree nut product, it's extremely low in the proteins that cause allergic reaction and it's considered safe for people who suffer from tree nut allergies.
